1 destroyed during lift off by malfunction of Ariane V 63 launch vehicle third stage. (The explosion also destroyed Eutelsat 2F5).

The ill fated Turksat 1A being launched with
Eutelsat 2F5 on Ariane flight V 63.
A few minutes later, the third stage exploded, destroying the payload.
Turkey produced a stamp in 1994 to commemorate the start of Turksat services.
