My new dish mount for the 13E dish.

After 3 years of temporary mounts, At the end of April 2004, I finally got round to making a proper permanent mount for one of the 80cm dishes. In the usual tradition of doing it as cheaply as possible, two old 5' fence posts were rescued from the back of the shed, and the mount was attatched to the posts with 4'' coach bolts.

The top picture shows a face on view of dish 2 on its new mount:

The second picture is a side view of the dish which shows the mount on the fence posts more clearly. As you may be able to see, the dish has had a hard life, and is slightly twisted.... Ah well - the dish is ok for reception of the strong signals from the 13°E satellites. An advantage of the new mount is that lifting the dish a couple of feet off its car tyre has increased the signal strength slightly. I now get over 80% signal quality off the Hotbirds.  :-)
