2 Canal + is encoded in Nagravision much of the time. However it does run clear some of the day.
Although these transmissions are SECAM encoded, the modern portable tv I now use for my satellite tv chasing actually shows the signals in colour, despite only using the aerial cable. I suspect new tv's must have SECAM circuitry in them - probably so they can be sold round Europe without modifications.
News from 5W
16th November 2002: The TV5 info card has left 12585H. That transponder is now off air.
7th November 2002: TV 5 has left 12585H in the last couple of days.
5th October 2002: TV5 is still operating at the moment.
2nd October 2002: TV5 reported going fta digital only from 14th October :-(
11th September 2002: Atlantic Bird 3 took over all the analogue channels from Telecom 2C yesterday - the title of the page has been changed to reflect this.
7th September 2002: Atlantic Bird 3 (ex Stellat 5) is now geostationary at 5W. It will be going into service replacing Telecom 2C in the near future.
