My 60cm satellite dish in the snow.
At the beginning of March 2001 the Scottish Borders was hit by the worst snowfalls for over 30 years. With the Region just about shut down for 4 days, roads blocked by drifts up to 15 feet deep in some areas, I was one of the lucky ones who enjoyed several days extra holiday. With time to kill, I got the 60 cm satellite dish out of the shed and had a look for Anatolia 1.
The picture below shows the dish perched on top of a snowdrift, with the old tv on the window sill so I can see what the signal is like as I move the dish round. The tv can be glimpsed just to the right of the bird table, and although it doesnt show up very well, I got a good signal from the satellite. If I can get good pictures using this simple set up, anyone can.

In May 2002, this dish was put back into full time service connected to my Sky Digibox. This provides a rock solid signal even in bad weather.
