Sky Analogue channel idents.
During my Christmas holidays in December 2003, I was going through a box of old video tapes, and I ran across some films we had taped a good few years ago. These date from long before I ever had a satellite system - we used to tape various films on Sky Analogue whilst we were at my parents over Christmas, then watch them in January when there wasnt much worth watching on the telly.
Some of the tapes had the old Sky idents on them, so here is a selection of the ones I have found on my tapes. Stephen McGarry has supplied the dates during which the idents were used, so thanks to him for that. I'll put some more up if I find any of suitable quality.
The Disney Channel
This one has a nice "fireworks" effect round the channel logo.
Stephen McGarry:
The Disney Channel ident is the first one they ever used, back in October
1995
when it was launched. I only ever saw it in a promo around September of '95. However I
don't know
when it was replaced since I didn't have the Disney Channel back then.

Sky Movies
Stephen McGarry:
This Sky Movies ident was introduced in September 1993 and was
replaced in September 1995 so it could be any time during that period.

Sky - The Movie Channel
Stephen McGarry: Both of The Movie Channel idents are from 1995. The first ident was used by Sky for only one year - September 1995 to 1996. With the new look in September '96 all of the movie channels were uniformed in a gold coloured "gravestone" (as it seems to be called). Before this, Sky Movies was purple, The Movie Channel was blue, and Sky Movies Gold was gold. So the Christmas ident was definitely Christmas 1995 due to the blue colour in it.

Sky - The Movie Channel (different version)
A slightly rough copy of this picture as the video tape has seen better days - it had been played too many times through an old video player that should have been junked years before.....

If you have any other ident pictures from the Sky Analogue days, and would like to see them up on this page contact me and let me know.
Please DONT send them to me without letting me know first - any emails I get with attachments Im not expecting are deleted without opening them for security reasons.
Feel free to grab these pictures for your own web sites - all I ask is that you dont just link to my pictures or else you use my limited bandwidth. Copy them, and put them into your own site. An acknowledgement of the source (www.analoguesat.co.uk) would be appreciated.
If you arrived here from a search engine and dont see the frameset, click here to get to the front page.
The web site will not work properly if you dont.
