Sparklies on analogue channels.
With the demise of millions of analogue installations across the UK, sparklies will be a fading memory for many of you. So here is a picture of TV4 (Poland) on Hotbird 13E taken during December 2003 complete with good old sparklies scattered liberally across the picture.
TV4 is on one of the weaker transponders at 13E, and signals regularly degrade during bad weather if my dish isnt exactly on target.

This sort of picture was often found on the channels transmitted off Astra 1A in the 1990's. 1A was much lower powered than the later birds, and it's signals were always the first to suffer sparklies in bad weather.
