This was the 11th orbital position I found active. Despite the beam being aimed at the Nordic countries, The TV4 signal was reasonably strong here in the Scottish Borders. The signal was first noted on the 15th April 2001.
D2 Mac channels
I have been asked by several people to provide some information about the D2 Mac encoded channels on the satellites at 1W (Thor 2, 3, & Intelsat 707). Although I can see some of the signals, I cant decode any of these channels, and the information below has been inferred from several sources. The signals will show up on an old Sky analogue system as rapidly moving horizontal black and white lines, a bit like a very badly off tune tv. I have been informed that some of these signals carry teletext information that can be obtained by some teletext sets. I dont have teletext on any of my equipment, so I cant test this out.
